About the Role
As Culinary Lead Cook at The Manor at Elfindale, you'll lead our kitchen operations while mentoring our culinary team. This position combines your culinary expertise with your commitment to serving seniors in our thriving community. Your work directly enhances the quality of life for our residents through nutritious, delicious, and thoughtfully prepared meals.
What You'll Do
- Plan, prepare, and oversee the daily preparation of meals that meet dietary needs and preferences of our senior residents
- Develop and execute seasonal menus that balance nutrition, flavor, and appeal
- Train, supervise, and mentor kitchen staff to maintain high standards of food quality and presentation
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, sanitation protocols, and health codes
- Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and food cost controls
- Accommodate specialized dietary requirements including therapeutic diets and allergy considerations
- Coordinate with dining services and care staff to ensure excellent meal delivery and resident satisfaction
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe kitchen environment
What We're Looking For
- Proven culinary experience with demonstrable lead cook or similar supervisory background
- Genuine compassion and patience when working with elderly individuals
