About the Role

As an Oiler/Wiper on one of our North Pacific fishing vessels, you'll be responsible for keeping our fleet's mechanical systems running smoothly. This full-time position combines hands-on technical work with the unique demands of maritime operations. You'll work rotating shifts aboard our vessel, directly contributing to the success of our fishing operations and the safety of our crew.

What You'll Do

  • Monitor and maintain marine engines, pumps, and hydraulic systems during active operations
  • Perform routine fluid checks, lubrication, and preventive maintenance on all mechanical equipment
  • Clean and organize engine rooms and mechanical spaces according to established protocols
  • Assist deck crews with equipment operation and respond to mechanical issues as they arise
  • Document maintenance activities and equipment performance in required logs
  • Adhere strictly to maritime safety regulations and company safety standards in all tasks
  • Collaborate with vessel crew members in a remote, high-stakes marine environment
  • Report any mechanical concerns or safety hazards to supervisors without delay

What We're Looking For

  • Hands-on mechanical experience with engines or marine equipment systems
  • Strong knowledge of maritime safety protocols and genuine commitment to crew safety
  • Physical capability to lift, bend, climb, and work in confined vessel spaces
  • Reliability, initiative, and ability to troubleshoot independently
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to communicate effectively with diverse crews
  • Valid passport and ability to meet maritime employment requirements
  • Comfort with extended periods at sea and rotating shift schedules
