SRM seeks a Development Associate in Kirkland, King County, to join our growing Development team in a full-time position. This role offers the opportunity to drive real estate development projects from site identification through construction execution, working directly with our Development Manager to acquire and shepherd properties to successful project completion.

About the Role

As a Development Associate at SRM, you'll support the development lifecycle across multiple projects and initiatives. This position bridges pre-development strategy and operational delivery, requiring both analytical precision and collaborative problem-solving. You'll be instrumental in translating market opportunities into viable real estate assets.

What You'll Do

  • Identify and evaluate potential development sites, conducting initial market and feasibility assessments
  • Support site acquisition activities, including negotiations, diligence coordination, and documentation
  • Prepare and maintain financial models, pro formas, and budgets for development projects
  • Perform due diligence on prospective acquisitions, including environmental reviews, zoning analysis, and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate with consultants, architects, engineers, and contractors on project-specific deliverables
  • Manage project timelines, budgets, and stakeholder communications throughout development phases
  • Support joint venture investor relations, including reporting, documentation, and relationship management
  • Facilitate construction loan processes and coordinate with lenders on financing requirements
  • Oversee project transition from development into operational management

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in real estate, finance, business, or related field
  • 1-3 years of experience in real estate development, finance, or project management
  • Proficiency with Excel, financial modeling, and project management tools
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple workstreams and prioritize competing demands
  • Experience with or strong interest in real estate development, construction, or partnership structures
