Johns Hopkins University is recruiting a Postdoctoral Fellow to support research initiatives in Montgomery Village, Montgomery County. This full-time position is part of the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Professional Research Experience Program (PREP), which facilitates collaborative research partnerships between NIST and academic institutions.
About the Role
As a Postdoctoral Fellow within the PREP program, you will conduct research on projects of mutual interest between Johns Hopkins University and NIST, contributing to advancing scientific understanding and innovation. This position offers the opportunity to develop your research expertise while working within a collaborative academic and government research environment.
What You'll Do
- Conduct independent and collaborative research aligned with NIST and Johns Hopkins University priorities
- Design, execute, and analyze experimental or computational research activities
- Prepare research findings for publication in peer-reviewed journals and scientific conferences
- Collaborate with faculty, research staff, and NIST scientists on interdisciplinary projects
- Maintain detailed research records and contribute to progress reporting
- Participate in the academic research community through seminars and professional development opportunities
What We're Looking For
- Recent Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree in a relevant scientific or engineering discipline
- Strong research background and demonstrated scientific productivity
- Excellent analytical, communication, and technical writing skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a research team
- Commitment to rigorous, high-quality research practices
