About the Role
As Associate Director of Patient Engagement, you will lead the design and execution of patient-centric programs that support individuals and families navigating gene therapy for GDNF-related neuromuscular conditions. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll bridge clinical development with real-world patient needs, creating pathways for feedback, education, and community support that directly influence how we develop and deliver medicine.
What You'll Do
- Develop and oversee patient engagement strategies tailored to GDNF program milestones, from clinical trial phases through post-launch support
- Design and manage patient education initiatives, support programs, and digital tools that empower informed decision-making
- Lead clinical trial recruitment, retention, and community outreach efforts to connect eligible patients with treatment opportunities
- Gather and synthesize patient feedback to inform clinical trial design, regulatory submissions, and therapeutic development priorities
- Collaborate across medical affairs, clinical operations, and commercial teams to ensure patient voices shape program strategy
- Build and nurture relationships with patient advocacy organizations, healthcare providers, and disease communities
- Monitor patient outcomes, engagement metrics, and program effectiveness; report insights to senior leadership
What We're Looking For
- 7+ years of experience in patient engagement, patient advocacy, clinical trial management, or related healthcare roles
- Demonstrated leadership in building patient support programs or driving engagement in biotech or pharmaceutical settings
- Deep understanding of neuromuscular disease, gene therapy, or rare disease landscapes
- Excellent communication skills—ability to translate complex science for patients and stakeholders alike
- Proven ability to manage cross-functional projects and influence without direct authority
- Passion for improving patient outcomes and lived experience with rare or genetic disease (personal or professional) is a plus
