About the Role

As a Litigation Assistant at AAA in Costa Mesa, you'll be the organizational backbone of our legal practice. This position involves providing hands-on administrative and secretarial support to one or multiple attorneys, with a strong focus on the preparation, management, and compliance of legal documentation. You'll develop expertise in court procedures and legal terminology while managing the detailed, multi-faceted responsibilities that keep litigation cases moving forward efficiently.

What You'll Do

  • Prepare court-compliant legal documents, pleadings, motions, and correspondence with precision and attention to detail
  • Review, organize, and maintain case files and litigation records, ensuring all materials meet court filing requirements
  • Conduct preliminary legal research to support attorney work product and case strategy
  • Coordinate court filings, manage deadlines, and track case milestones to ensure timely submissions
  • Schedule depositions, hearings, and trial preparation sessions while managing attorney calendars
  • Communicate with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel with professionalism and confidentiality
  • Maintain billing records, track attorney time, and prepare cost summaries for client invoicing
  • Assist in trial preparation, including exhibit organization and witness coordination

What We're Looking For

  • Demonstrated knowledge of legal terminology, court procedures, and litigation workflows
  • Strong written communication skills with the ability to draft professional correspondence
  • Proficiency in legal document formatting and Microsoft Office applications
  • Exceptional organizational and time-management skills to juggle multiple cases and priorities
  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in legal documentation
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a law practice environment
  • Experience with litigation support software or legal case management systems is a plus
