Join Magnolia ISD as a Licensed School Psychologist to make a meaningful impact on student mental health and academic success across our district. This full-time special education position offers the opportunity to support students K-12 through evidence-based psychological and educational assessment, intervention, and consultation.
About the Role
As a school psychologist in our Special Education department, you'll serve as a vital member of our student support team, providing comprehensive mental health and behavioral services within our schools. Working under the Executive Director of Special Education, you'll help identify and support students with learning and emotional needs, contributing directly to student achievement and well-being throughout the school year (192 work days).
What You'll Do
- Conduct psychoeducational assessments, cognitive evaluations, and behavioral observations to identify students' learning profiles and mental health needs
- Develop and implement intervention plans, crisis response protocols, and behavioral support strategies
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, special education coordinators, and other professionals to create individualized education plans (IEPs) and 504 plans
- Provide counseling, consultation, and preventive mental health services to students and families
- Participate in special education eligibility meetings and IEP conferences
- Maintain comprehensive, confidential psychological records and documentation
- Contribute to data-driven decision-making for district special education programs
What We're Looking For
- Valid Texas License as a Licensed School Psychologist (LSSP) or equivalent state certification
- Master's degree in school psychology or related field
- Strong knowledge of assessment instruments, special education law (IDEA, ADA), and evidence-based interventions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with students, families, and staff
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary special education team
- Commitment to supporting diverse learners and fostering inclusive school environments
