CalPortland seeks an experienced Ready Mix Plant Manager to lead operations at our Wilmington, Los Angeles County facility. As a full-time Plant Manager, you'll oversee concrete production, drive operational excellence, and manage all aspects of our plant to deliver quality products while advancing our commitment to sustainable manufacturing.

About the Role

This is a hands-on leadership position where you'll take ownership of our ready-mix concrete facility's complete operational scope. You'll manage production processes, quality standards, equipment performance, safety protocols, and team performance to ensure consistent output, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across all operations.

What You'll Do

  • Oversee daily production operations and concrete manufacturing processes
  • Develop and maintain production schedules aligned with customer orders and delivery commitments
  • Manage quality assurance testing to ensure all concrete products meet industry standards and specifications
  • Lead and mentor production staff, including equipment operators, technicians, and logistics personnel
  • Coordinate preventive maintenance and repairs to maximize equipment uptime and reliability
  • Ensure full compliance with OSHA safety regulations, environmental requirements, and industry best practices
  • Monitor raw material inventory levels and manage supplier performance and relationships
  • Track production metrics, cost efficiency, and profitability to identify opportunities for improvement
  • Drive process enhancements that increase productivity, reduce waste, and lower operating costs

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years managing ready-mix concrete plants or comparable manufacturing operations
  • Demonstrated expertise in optimizing production efficiency and maintaining quality standards
  • Solid understanding of concrete production methods, materials, and industry specifications
  • Proven leadership managing teams of 20 or more employees
  • Knowledge of OSHA requirements and environmental regulations for industrial facilities
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational capabilities
  • Comfort using plant management systems and standard computer software
  • Valid driver's license with willingness to work onsite daily
