About the Role
As a Grounds Technician, you'll be responsible for the daily upkeep and appearance of our residential community's outdoor areas. This is a hands-on position that combines landscaping, maintenance, and grounds management—essential work that directly impacts resident satisfaction and property value. You'll work as part of our on-site operations team at Brookside Apartments, reporting to management and collaborating with colleagues to maintain our standards.
What You'll Do
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, and general lawn care throughout the property
- Maintain garden beds, planters, and landscaped areas according to seasonal schedules
- Operate and maintain grounds-keeping equipment safely and effectively
- Conduct routine inspections of outdoor facilities and address maintenance needs promptly
- Remove debris, fallen branches, and other yard waste
- Respond to maintenance requests from residents and management
- Maintain cleanliness in common outdoor areas and walkways
- Assist with snow removal and seasonal property preparations when needed
What We're Looking For
- Prior experience with grounds maintenance, landscaping, or similar outdoor property work
- Ability to operate standard grounds-keeping equipment (mowers, trimmers, leaf blowers)
- Strong attention to detail and pride in quality work
- Reliable, punctual, and capable of working independently
- Physical ability to perform outdoor work in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Willingness to learn and grow within a career-focused organization
