About the Role
Dispatchers at Roberts Heavy Duty are essential to our success. You'll be the critical link connecting our drivers, customers, and management—ensuring every shipment moves smoothly, safely, and on schedule. What You'll Do
- Coordinate vehicle assignments and delivery routes to maximize efficiency and customer satisfaction
- Communicate with drivers in real-time to provide routing guidance, handle schedule changes, and address roadside issues
- Monitor fleet status and track shipments from pickup to delivery, keeping customers informed
- Respond to urgent requests and adapt to changing priorities throughout the day
- Support safety protocols by monitoring driver compliance and reporting incidents
- Manage customer inquiries and resolve issues with professionalism and problem-solving
- Maintain accurate records of dispatch activities, vehicle assignments, and customer communications
What We're Looking For
- Strong organizational and multitasking abilities—you'll juggle multiple drivers, routes, and customer needs simultaneously
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to stay calm under pressure and make quick decisions
- Proficiency with dispatch software and computer systems (training provided)
- Attention to detail and accountability for accuracy
