Autumn Lake Healthcare at Scotch Plains is seeking an experienced Business Office Manager (BOM) to lead our administrative operations and financial management in Scotch Plains, Union County. About the Role
As Business Office Manager, you will oversee the day-to-day financial and administrative operations of our facility. This leadership role bridges clinical and business functions, ensuring smooth operations, accurate financial management, and regulatory compliance across all departments. You'll report directly to senior management and drive process improvements that enhance both efficiency and patient satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Manage patient billing, accounts receivable, and insurance claim processing to maximize revenue cycle efficiency
- Supervise and train administrative staff, providing guidance on billing practices, coding standards, and customer service protocols
- Coordinate insurance verification, pre-authorization, and claims follow-up with third-party payers
- Maintain compliance with HIPAA, healthcare billing regulations, and state licensing requirements
- Analyze financial reports and KPIs to identify improvement opportunities and support budget planning
- Develop and implement office policies, procedures, and systems to streamline operations
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff and billing/administrative departments
- Handle patient collections, payment arrangements, and denial management
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of healthcare office management or billing/business operations experience
- Proven supervisory or team leadership experience in a medical or clinical setting
- Strong knowledge of medical billing, insurance processes, and healthcare compliance
- Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
- Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree or relevant certification preferred
