Phlebotomist

About the Role

As a Phlebotomist at our Palmdale, CA facility located at 627 West Ave Q, you'll be an essential part of our laboratory team. Your position runs Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, with availability for additional hours and rotating schedules as operational needs arise. You'll develop technical expertise in specimen collection while maintaining the highest standards of patient care and laboratory safety.

What You'll Do

• Collect blood and other biological specimens from patients using proper venipuncture techniques
• Label, document, and process specimens according to established laboratory protocols and quality standards
• Maintain strict sterile technique and follow bloodborne pathogen safety procedures
• Ensure patient comfort, safety, and privacy during all collection procedures
• Handle and store samples properly to preserve specimen integrity and test accuracy
• Maintain accurate, detailed records of patient collections and specimen information
• Keep equipment clean, organized, and functioning properly
• Adhere to OSHA regulations, Labcorp safety guidelines, and all laboratory protocols

What We're Looking For

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Phlebotomy certification or completion of phlebotomy training program
• Proficiency in venipuncture techniques and bloodborne pathogen protocols
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy and quality
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively with patients and clinical staff
• Professional, compassionate approach to patient interactions
• Reliable attendance and dependable work performance
• Openness to learning and adapting to evolving laboratory procedures
