Medical City Dallas in Allen, Collin County is seeking a specialized Registered Nurse to join our Solid Organ Transplant team on a full-time basis. As a Transplant RN, you'll provide expert clinical care to patients throughout the transplant journey—from pre-operative evaluation through post-transplant recovery—making a tangible difference in their lives every day.

About the Role

Your role centers on delivering high-acuity, specialized nursing care within our transplant program. You'll work in a setting where clinical precision, rapid assessment, and compassionate patient advocacy directly impact outcomes for patients who depend on organ transplantation for their survival. This position combines technical expertise with deep patient engagement.

What You'll Do

  • Perform comprehensive pre- and post-operative nursing assessments for transplant patients, documenting clinical findings with precision
  • Manage complex medication regimens including immunosuppressants, antirejection protocols, and symptom management
  • Monitor hemodynamics, perfusion, organ-specific indicators, and laboratory values; report acute changes to the transplant team immediately
  • Maintain central lines, manage infusions, and administer blood products according to transplant protocols
  • Assess wounds, surgical sites, and monitor for signs of rejection or infection with trained clinical judgment
  • Educate patients and families about post-transplant medications, lifestyle modifications, and self-monitoring
  • Collaborate with transplant surgeons, nephrologists, infectious disease specialists, and social workers to coordinate multidisciplinary care
  • Maintain accurate, thorough documentation in the electronic health record to support continuity and quality improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Active Texas RN license in good standing
  • Minimum 2 years of critical care or surgical nursing experience
  • Solid foundation in hemodynamic monitoring, IV therapy, and acutely ill patient management
  • Understanding of organ transplant physiology, immunology, and rejection mechanisms
  • Strong clinical assessment skills and ability to communicate changes to the care team
  • Proficiency with electronic health records and comfort with rapid documentation
  • BLS certification required; CCRN or transplant specialty certification preferred
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and patient-centered care
