Registered Nurse

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Petersburg is hiring a Part-Time Registered Nurse to join our clinical team in Eltham, King William County. This is an opportunity to deliver direct patient care in a specialized rehabilitation setting where your nursing skills drive meaningful patient recovery and outcomes.

About the Role

As a Registered Nurse at our Petersburg rehabilitation facility, you'll provide skilled nursing care to patients in active recovery from surgery, injury, or illness. This part-time position focuses on patient assessment, clinical monitoring, and coordination with our interdisciplinary rehabilitation team to support each patient's unique path to independence and improved function.

What You'll Do

• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments and ongoing health monitoring throughout each shift
• Administer medications and manage therapeutic interventions per physician orders
• Collaborate with physical therapists, occupational therapists, and physicians to adjust care plans based on patient progress
• Educate patients and families on rehabilitation goals, medications, and self-care strategies
• Maintain detailed, accurate nursing documentation and communicate clinical updates to the care team
• Perform wound care, catheter management, and other clinical procedures as needed
• Support patients emotionally and physically during their rehabilitation journey

What We're Looking For

• Valid, unrestricted Registered Nurse license in Virginia
• Clinical nursing experience, preferably in acute care, rehabilitation, or similar settings
• Strong assessment and critical thinking skills in patient care decisions
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities across healthcare disciplines
• Compassion for patients and commitment to supporting their recovery
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced rehabilitation environment
