Beth Israel Lahey Health is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our finance team in Charlestown, Massachusetts. As a full-time member of our accounting department, you will support the financial operations of one of the nation's leading integrated healthcare systems.
About the Role
The Staff Accountant position is central to maintaining the accuracy and integrity of our financial records. You will work with our accounting team to execute day-to-day financial operations, support reporting requirements, and ensure compliance with accounting standards across our healthcare organization.
What You'll Do
- Process and record journal entries with careful attention to accuracy and documentation
- Analyze accounts and investigate variances to maintain ledger integrity
- Prepare financial statements and related supporting schedules
- Review budget performance and variance analysis
- Assist with audit preparation and respond to audit inquiries
- Support monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
What We're Looking For
- Background in accounting, with experience in account management and financial reporting
- Knowledge of accounting principles and standards
- Proficiency with accounting software platforms and spreadsheet applications
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Capability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
