Senior Transmission Line Engineer

Leidos seeks a Senior Transmission Line Engineer to lead the engineering design and delivery of overhead transmission infrastructure projects in Fowlerville, Livingston County. In this full-time position, you'll take ownership of complex projects across the complete lifecycle, from routing analysis through construction documentation, working within our Energy & Utilities Engineering & Design practice.

About the Role

You'll direct overhead transmission line projects with responsibility spanning initial route evaluation, detailed engineering design, and construction package preparation. Using PLS-CADD modeling and your technical expertise, you'll develop solutions that satisfy NESC standards and utility specifications. This position emphasizes technical oversight, quality assurance, and cross-functional coordination—ensuring seamless delivery across engineering disciplines and direct engagement with utility clients.

What You'll Do

• Own the complete transmission line design process, from routing optimization through final construction deliverables
• Execute PLS-CADD analysis and modeling to support engineering decisions and project planning
• Prepare comprehensive construction packages that comply with NESC requirements and client utility standards
• Lead technical quality reviews and verification of engineering work products
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams—spanning surveying, environmental, and operations—to integrate project needs
• Engage directly with utility clients to clarify requirements and coordinate delivery solutions

What We're Looking For

• Established background leading overhead transmission line engineering projects
• Hands-on capability with PLS-CADD and related transmission line design tools
• Comprehensive knowledge of NESC standards, regulatory frameworks, and utility industry practices
• Proven ability to manage technical teams and complex project delivery
• Strong interpersonal and coordination skills across client and internal stakeholder groups
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or equivalent discipline
