About the Role
The Illinois Attorney General seeks a Programmer Analyst for our Springfield office to design, develop, and maintain software solutions that address critical information management needs. In this full-time position based in Sangamon County, you'll work directly with agency stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical solutions and provide ongoing support for our computing infrastructure.
What You'll Do
- Develop and maintain software applications that solve client information requirements
- Confer with clients and stakeholders to understand business needs and technical requirements
- Analyze operational workflows and evaluate input/output specifications
- Design computer programs and system architectures aligned with agency goals
- Install, configure, and modify software systems to meet client and operational needs
- Provide technical guidance to help users effectively utilize computing resources
- Test software solutions for quality, performance, and compliance
- Collaborate with team members to implement and refine system improvements
What We're Looking For
- Demonstrated experience in software development or programming
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Ability to gather, analyze, and document technical requirements
- Experience designing and implementing software systems
- Excellent communication skills, especially with non-technical stakeholders

- Familiarity with systems analysis and design methodologies
