Wharton County Junior College seeks a dedicated Part Time Art Instructor to join our faculty and deliver engaging, high-quality instruction across our multiple campuses in Wharton County and online. About the Role
As a Part Time Art Instructor at Wharton County Junior College, you will hold a faculty position responsible for designing and delivering exceptional classroom instruction in your area of art expertise. You'll work across one or more of our Wharton, Richmond, and Sugar Land campuses, as well as online instruction opportunities. This position offers flexibility with part-time status while maintaining the highest standards of pedagogical effectiveness and student engagement.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver art curriculum that meets institutional standards and student learning outcomes
- Create a dynamic, inclusive learning environment that fosters creativity and critical thinking
- Assess student progress and provide constructive feedback to support growth
- Collaborate with colleagues and report to your assigned faculty supervisor
- Participate in professional development and curriculum improvement initiatives
- Mentor and guide students both in and outside the classroom
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in Art, Fine Arts, or related discipline (or equivalent professional experience)
- Demonstrated expertise and proficiency in one or more art mediums or specialties
- Strong teaching ability with experience in higher education or community college settings preferred
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Commitment to student success and inclusive education
- Ability to work effectively across multiple locations and in online environments

Compensation
This part-time position offers compensation of $800 per equated pay hour per semester.
