Forge Biologics seeks an Associate Manager of GMP Maintenance to lead preventive and corrective maintenance operations at our Columbus, Franklin County facility. This full-time role is pivotal to ensuring our manufacturing systems support the development and production of innovative gene therapies that transform patient outcomes.

About the Role

As Associate Manager of GMP Maintenance, you'll oversee maintenance teams and engineering systems that keep our biologics manufacturing operations compliant and running at peak performance. Your leadership directly enables our scientists and production teams to focus on what matters most: advancing breakthrough therapies.

What You'll Do

  • Direct and supervise maintenance personnel to execute preventive maintenance schedules and respond to equipment failures with minimal disruption to production
  • Develop and implement maintenance strategies aligned with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) regulations and facility-specific protocols
  • Oversee equipment qualification, validation, and calibration programs to ensure ongoing regulatory compliance
  • Manage maintenance budgets, equipment procurement, and vendor relationships
  • Lead root-cause analysis and corrective actions for equipment incidents and deviations
  • Coordinate with Operations, Quality, and Engineering teams on facility upgrades and capital projects
  • Maintain comprehensive maintenance documentation and ensure records meet FDA and GMP audit standards
  • Foster a strong culture of safety, continuous improvement, and operational excellence

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field, or equivalent maintenance leadership experience in regulated manufacturing
  • 5+ years of experience in GMP maintenance, equipment management, or facilities engineering
  • Demonstrated leadership of maintenance teams in a manufacturing or pharmaceutical environment
  • Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, GMP requirements, and validation principles
  • Proficiency with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and technical documentation
  • Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills
