About the Role

This is an entry-level law enforcement position for academy-trained officers beginning their career with one of Orange County's respected police departments. You will work under mentorship from experienced officers, applying classroom knowledge to real-world police work while developing the judgment, skills, and professionalism essential to effective community policing in a growing suburban environment.

What You'll Do

• Patrol assigned areas and respond to calls for service, applying POST academy training to diverse situations
• De-escalate conflicts and resolve incidents using professional judgment and communication skills
• Conduct preliminary investigations and prepare thorough, legally compliant reports
• Engage with community members to build trust and gather information
• Maintain patrol vehicles and equipment in safe, operational condition
• Participate in ongoing training and professional development programs

What We're Looking For

• Current enrollment in a POST-certified Police Academy, or graduation within the past six months
• Valid California driver's license
• Ability to pass background investigation, medical examination, and psychological evaluation
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Physical fitness and ability to meet essential job functions
• Demonstrated integrity and commitment to ethical conduct
• Availability to work rotating shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays
