Chemours is seeking a Capital Project Scheduler to join our team in Douglas, Juneau. In this full-time role, you'll be responsible for planning, developing, and managing detailed project schedules for major capital initiatives that directly support our operations and strategic growth objectives.
About the Role
The Capital Project Scheduler works at the intersection of planning and execution, translating strategic capital projects into detailed, achievable timelines. You'll collaborate with project managers, engineers, operations teams, and external contractors to build realistic schedules that keep complex initiatives on track from conception through completion. Your schedules will serve as the central planning document that teams reference daily, making accuracy and clarity essential to project success.
What You'll Do
- Develop comprehensive project schedules using industry-standard scheduling software, incorporating all project phases, milestones, dependencies, and resource requirements
- Identify critical path activities and potential scheduling risks, recommending mitigation strategies to project leadership
- Coordinate with project stakeholders to gather accurate scope and sequencing information, ensuring schedules reflect actual project needs
- Monitor schedule performance, track progress against baselines, and update forecasts as project conditions evolve
- Analyze schedule variances and support corrective actions to maintain project timelines
- Prepare clear schedule reports and presentations for executive and operational stakeholders
- Contribute to lessons learned and schedule process improvements across capital project portfolio
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of experience in project scheduling, preferably supporting capital projects, engineering projects, or construction
- Proficiency with scheduling software such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent tools
- Strong understanding of project management principles and scheduling methodology (CPM, PERT, or similar)
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail
- Ability to communicate complex schedule information clearly to diverse audiences
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, project management, business, or related field, or equivalent professional experience
