Business Manager

Bardwell Group, a charter school management organization, is hiring a full-time Business Manager in Redford, Wayne County, Michigan. You'll oversee financial and operational systems across multiple school campuses in the Metro Detroit area.

About the Role

As Business Manager at Bardwell Group, you'll be the operational backbone keeping our charter schools running smoothly. Your work touches every part of how we serve students—from budget oversight and financial reporting to day-to-day campus coordination and compliance management.

What You'll Do

• Manage financial operations and budgeting across assigned school campuses
• Prepare and monitor fiscal reports, ensuring accuracy and regulatory compliance
• Coordinate with school leaders on operational priorities and resource planning
• Oversee vendor relationships, procurement, and contract management
• Support human resources functions including payroll coordination and staffing logistics
• Ensure campus facilities and systems meet standards for safety and functionality
• Track and reconcile financial accounts and expenditures
• Help implement policies and procedures that strengthen school operations

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience managing finances and operations in an educational or nonprofit environment
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in financial work
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and coordinate across different campuses
• Comfort with financial software and spreadsheet tools
• Clear written and verbal communication skills
• Understanding of K-12 education environments or charter school operations (preferred)
• Reliability and a collaborative approach to problem-solving
