About the Role

As a Nurse Extern on our renal unit, you'll work alongside experienced nurses and nephrologists to provide direct patient care in a dynamic clinical environment. This role is ideal for nursing students or recent program graduates seeking practical experience in specialty nursing while maintaining schedule flexibility.

What You'll Do

• Assist registered nurses with dialysis patient care and monitoring
• Measure and record vital signs and intake/output documentation
• Support patient hygiene, comfort measures, and daily living activities under RN supervision
• Communicate patient needs and concerns to the nursing team
• Help maintain a safe, clean patient environment
• Observe and learn clinical procedures specific to renal nursing

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in an accredited nursing program or recent nursing graduate
• High school diploma or GED
• Compassion for patients and commitment to quality care
• Strong communication and teamwork skills
• Ability to be flexible with PRN scheduling
• Reliable transportation to Asheville, Buncombe County location
• Willingness to learn in a specialty clinical setting
