Protective Service Officer (PSO)

Walden Security is seeking experienced Protective Service Officers (PSOs) to join our team in Washington, D.C. As a PSO, you'll provide armed security and access control to protect facilities, personnel, and assets across the DC metro region while maintaining the highest professional standards.

About the Role

This is a full-time position based in Washington, D.C. As a Protective Service Officer, you'll be the front line of security for our clients' critical facilities. Every day, you'll combine vigilance, professional judgment, and tactical awareness to prevent security threats before they occur and respond decisively when incidents arise.

What You'll Do

• Monitor and control access to facilities through credential verification, security screening, and professional customer service
• Conduct regular patrols and surveillance of premises, identifying and documenting security concerns
• Respond to emergencies, incidents, and unusual situations in accordance with established protocols
• Deter potential threats through visible, professional presence and tactical positioning
• Maintain detailed incident reports and communicate with facility management and law enforcement when needed
• Operate security systems, monitoring equipment, and access control technology
• Work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays as assigned

What We're Looking For

• Valid state security license or ability to obtain one quickly
• Active security clearance (Top Secret/SCI preferred) or eligibility to obtain one
• Excellent physical fitness and ability to respond to emergencies
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills in high-stress situations
• Ability to remain calm, alert, and professional throughout shifts
• Attention to detail and commitment to thorough documentation
• Prior armed security or law enforcement experience strongly preferred
