About the Role
As a Youth Life Skills Coach with LSSI, you'll work directly with young people to build confidence, resilience, and practical skills for navigating life's challenges. In this part-time role based in Aurora, Kane County, you'll create supportive relationships that help youth make informed decisions and succeed in school, work, and personal growth.
What You'll Do
- Coach and mentor youth through individual and group sessions focused on life skills development
- Design and deliver activities that build communication, critical thinking, and decision-making abilities
- Assess individual needs and track progress, adjusting your approach to support each youth's growth
- Collaborate with families, educators, and team members to reinforce learning and create continuity
- Maintain a safe, welcoming environment where young people feel valued and supported
- Document sessions and outcomes to demonstrate impact and inform program refinement
What We're Looking For
- Genuine passion for making a positive difference in young people's lives
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience working with or mentoring youth (paid or volunteer)
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant education, training, or certification valued
- Ability to build trust and maintain professional boundaries
- Reliable transportation and availability for a flexible part-time schedule
