About the Role
The Diocese of Allentown seeks a skilled, dependable Maintenance Technician to keep the John Paul II Center operating smoothly and safely. You'll be the hands-on professional who maintains our building systems, responds to facility needs, and preserves a clean, welcoming environment for our school community.
What You'll Do
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems
- Respond promptly to maintenance requests and address facility issues as they arise
- Conduct preventative maintenance to extend equipment life and prevent breakdowns
- Keep all areas of the building clean, organized, and in compliance with safety standards
- Operate and maintain specialized facility equipment and tools
- Document maintenance activities and report on facility conditions to management
- Support facility preparations for events, activities, and daily operations
- Identify potential safety hazards and take corrective action
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on experience in building or facilities maintenance
- Working knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to troubleshoot problems and work independently
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical capability to lift, climb, and perform maintenance duties safely
- Positive attitude and willingness to support a school environment
