Join Downtown Emergency Service Center as a Substance Use Disorder Professional to provide compassionate, evidence-based care to individuals experiencing mental health and addiction challenges in King County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to make a direct impact through our PACT (Assertive Community Treatment) team, serving vulnerable populations across East Union with comprehensive support and crisis intervention.
About the Role
As a Substance Use Disorder Professional (SUDP) with our PACT team, you'll work on the front lines of community mental health, combining clinical assessment with real-world problem-solving to help individuals achieve stability and connect with essential services. Based in East Union, King County, you'll maintain regular office hours and participate in community outreach, working day shifts (8am–4pm) with occasional evening availability (12pm–8pm). This role is union-represented and offers a stable work schedule with weekends off.
What You'll Do
- Conduct comprehensive substance use and mental health assessments to inform individualized treatment planning
- Deliver evidence-based counseling and psychosocial interventions to support recovery and stability
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary PACT team members to coordinate care and navigate barriers to treatment
- Connect clients to community resources including housing, employment, medical care, and peer support services
- Document clinical interactions and maintain accurate, confidential case records
- Participate in crisis response and clinical consultation as needed within your scope of practice

- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build trust with vulnerable populations
- Professional credentials (certification or licensure) in substance abuse counseling, social work, or related clinical field
- Familiarity with evidence-based practices like motivational interviewing and cognitive-behavioral approaches
- Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment
- Genuine compassion for individuals experiencing homelessness, mental illness, and addiction
