About the Role
As Facilities Manager, you're the operational anchor for your property. You'll report directly on facility performance, manage budgets, coordinate maintenance staff and contractors, and ensure the building meets Centennial's standards for functionality, appearance, and tenant experience. Your decisions impact everything from tenant retention to energy costs to workplace safety.
What You'll Do
- Oversee daily facility operations, maintenance schedules, and preventive care across HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and structural systems
- Manage vendor relationships and contracts for janitorial, landscaping, security, and specialized repairs
- Implement safety protocols, emergency procedures, and compliance with local building codes and regulations
- Track capital and operating budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and report on property profitability
- Lead sustainability initiatives to reduce environmental impact and operating expenses
- Respond to tenant concerns and coordinate repairs or upgrades to maintain property standards
- Maintain facility documentation, inspection logs, and regulatory records
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years of facility management experience in commercial real estate, office buildings, or similar environments
- Strong knowledge of building systems, maintenance practices, and property operations
- Excellent organizational and communication skills to work with tenants, contractors, and leadership
- Problem-solving mindset with attention to safety, code compliance, and cost control
- Proficiency with facility management software and basic computer skills
- Valid driver's license and ability to be on-site in Vernon Hills, Lake County for this full-time position
