About the Role
As a Field Researcher at our Chicago location, you'll be the boots on the ground for CoStar, conducting property surveys and market research that directly feeds into our comprehensive real estate database. This full-time position plays a vital role in maintaining the accuracy and completeness of information trusted by thousands of real estate professionals industry-wide.
What You'll Do
- Conduct on-site property surveys and inspections to gather and verify real estate market data
- Interview property managers, owners, and tenants to collect accurate information about occupancy, amenities, and market conditions
- Document property characteristics, features, and condition details in field reports
- Photograph properties to support data collection and research findings
- Travel throughout the Chicago area and surrounding regions to assigned research locations
- Maintain detailed field notes and ensure data accuracy for database entry
- Meet research deadlines while upholding high standards for quality and completeness
What We're Looking For
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in data collection
- Ability to work independently and manage your time effectively in the field
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for interviewing and building rapport
- Reliable transportation and valid driver's license
- Professional demeanor and ability to represent CoStar professionally
- Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
- High school diploma or equivalent; prior experience in real estate or research preferred
