About the Role

The Technology Transfer Office at MIT Lincoln Laboratory seeks a Patent Manager to oversee intellectual property strategy, facilitate technology licensing opportunities, and support collaborative partnerships with industry and federal stakeholders. You'll work at the intersection of innovation and policy, ensuring the Laboratory's intellectual assets are protected, leveraged, and transferred effectively to maximize impact in both government and private-sector applications.

What You'll Do

• Manage and protect the Laboratory's patent portfolio, including oversight of patent prosecution, maintenance, and strategic IP decisions
• Support technology transfer initiatives by identifying licensing opportunities and facilitating partnerships with government agencies and industry organizations
• Coordinate intellectual property strategy across research programs and complex federal contracting environments
• Work with inventors, program managers, and external partners to evaluate, document, and commercialize emerging technologies
• Navigate regulatory and compliance requirements specific to federal laboratories and national security interests

What We're Looking For

• Current or ability to obtain a security clearance at the level required for MIT Lincoln Laboratory
• Demonstrated experience in patent management, intellectual property law, or technology transfer
• Strong understanding of federal patent law, licensing agreements, and intellectual property protection strategies
• Proven ability to work effectively with government and commercial stakeholders in collaborative environments
• Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills
• Bachelor's degree in engineering, science, or a related technical field (J.D. or equivalent patent management experience preferred)
