Join E-J Electric Installation Co. as an Estimator for National Solar in Foxborough, Norfolk County. This is a full-time opportunity to help grow our renewable energy division while managing project costing and proposals for solar installations across the nation.
About the Role
As a National Solar Estimator, you'll play a critical part in our commercial and utility-scale solar projects. Your cost analysis, project assessment skills, and attention to detail will directly impact our ability to bid competitively and execute profitably on renewable energy contracts.
What You'll Do
- Prepare detailed cost estimates and proposals for solar installation projects of varying scope and complexity
- Review project plans, specifications, and site conditions to calculate material and labor requirements
- Analyze subcontractor quotes and vendor pricing to ensure accuracy and competitiveness
- Collaborate with project management, engineering, and sales teams to refine estimates
- Track bid history and estimate performance to improve accuracy over time
- Stay current with solar technology, equipment costs, and industry pricing trends
What We're Looking For
- Proven estimating experience in electrical contracting, solar installation, or renewable energy projects
- Strong understanding of solar system design, components, and installation methods
- Proficiency with estimating software and Microsoft Office tools
- Excellent math, analytical, and organizational skills
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, electrical plans, and technical specifications
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in cost calculations
- Communication skills to work effectively across departments and with external partners
