Chief Development Officer

Tierra Del Sol Foundati is seeking a full-time Chief Development Officer to lead strategic fundraising and revenue growth initiatives for this Los Angeles-based nonprofit. Based in Shadow Hills, Los Angeles County, you will direct all development activities that sustain and expand programs serving individuals with developmental disabilities.

About the Role

As Chief Development Officer, you will oversee comprehensive fundraising operations, donor cultivation, partnership development, and revenue strategy. Reporting to executive leadership, you'll drive financial sustainability for an organization serving over 800 program participants daily through innovative employment, education, and arts pathways. You'll manage the development team and work cross-functionally to advance the organization's mission and impact.

What You'll Do

• Design and execute fundraising campaigns including major gifts, grants, corporate sponsorships, and annual giving
• Identify, cultivate, and steward relationships with individual donors, foundations, and philanthropic organizations
• Build strategic partnerships with local businesses, colleges, galleries, and community organizations
• Develop and manage development budgets, revenue projections, and financial forecasting
• Create compelling case statements, donor communications, and impact materials
• Lead donor stewardship and recognition programs to maximize retention and lifetime value
• Collaborate with program teams to articulate outcomes and demonstrate organizational impact to funders

What We're Looking For

• Five or more years of fundraising or development leadership experience in nonprofit organizations
• Proven track record securing major gifts, foundation grants, and diversified revenue streams
• Excellent relationship-building, communication, and networking capabilities
• Strategic mindset with ability to plan and implement multi-year development initiatives
• Proficiency with donor databases and nonprofit fundraising software
• Commitment to advancing opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional background
