KMRG is hiring a Federal Staffing Specialist in Rosslyn, Arlington County to support federal recruitment and hiring operations for the Executive Office for United States Attorneys and United States Attorney's Offices.
About the Role
As a Federal Staffing Specialist, you'll drive the complete lifecycle of federal hiring for the EOUSA and USAOs, managing the recruitment, screening, and placement of talented professionals into General Schedule and Administratively Determined positions. Your expertise in federal hiring systems and processes will ensure compliant, timely staffing that supports critical federal law enforcement and administrative functions.
What You'll Do
- Post and manage federal job openings on USAJobs, USA Staffing, and related platforms
- Review, screen, and rank applicant qualifications in accordance with federal hiring guidelines
- Coordinate with hiring managers to clarify position requirements and refine job descriptions
- Process hiring paperwork, conduct background checks, and facilitate onboarding for selected candidates
- Maintain awareness of federal pay schedules, position classifications, and GS/AD guidelines
- Track recruitment metrics and hiring timelines to ensure positions are filled efficiently
- Support special hiring authorities and veterans' preferences as required by federal law
- Answer candidate questions and provide guidance throughout the federal application process
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience in federal staffing, recruitment, or human resources roles
- Strong familiarity with USAJobs, USA Staffing, USA Hire, and federal hiring systems
- Working knowledge of General Schedule (GS) and Administratively Determined (AD) position classifications
- Understanding of federal hiring regulations, veterans' preferences, and compliance requirements
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple positions and competing deadlines
- Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in hiring documentation
