Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of New England in Lexington, Middlesex County is hiring a full-time Nurse Supervisor to lead clinical nursing operations and support patient care excellence across our inpatient rehabilitation facility.
About the Role
As Nurse Supervisor at this modern rehabilitation hospital, you'll oversee nursing staff and coordinate care delivery for patients recovering from acute illnesses, injuries, and surgical procedures. This leadership position combines hands-on clinical experience with team management, ensuring safe, evidence-based care and operational efficiency across nursing units.
What You'll Do
- Supervise, mentor, and evaluate nursing staff; manage schedules, assignments, and performance
- Monitor patient care quality, safety protocols, and compliance with clinical standards
- Address patient and staff concerns, resolve conflicts, and escalate issues appropriately
- Participate in care rounds and clinical decision-making; provide direct patient care as needed
- Document nursing activities and maintain accurate records in the electronic health record system
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams—physicians, therapists, social workers—to optimize patient outcomes
- Support infection control, patient safety initiatives, and quality improvement projects
What We're Looking For
- Current RN licensure in Massachusetts
- Minimum 3–5 years of nursing experience, preferably in inpatient or rehabilitation settings
- Leadership or supervisory experience preferred
- Strong communication, organizational, and critical-thinking skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and lead a diverse team
- BScN or advanced nursing credential a plus
