About the Role

As a Data Center Electrical Engineer at Google in Haskell County, you'll design, implement, and maintain electrical systems critical to our data center operations. You'll work on projects that require both deep technical expertise and collaborative problem-solving, helping ensure the reliability and efficiency of infrastructure that serves billions of users globally.

What You'll Do

  • Design and engineer electrical distribution systems, power delivery infrastructure, and related components for data center facilities
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize electrical systems to ensure peak performance and operational reliability
  • Conduct inspections and testing to verify compliance with electrical codes, safety standards, and Google's engineering specifications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including mechanical engineers, facilities managers, and project leads on complex initiatives
  • Develop technical documentation, engineering drawings, and specifications for data center electrical projects
  • Mentor and support junior engineers through guidance and knowledge sharing
  • Investigate equipment failures and implement preventive maintenance strategies to minimize downtime
  • Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in data center infrastructure

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience
  • 5 or more years of experience designing or maintaining electrical systems in industrial, commercial, or data center environments
  • Strong knowledge of electrical codes, standards, and safety regulations
  • Proficiency with electrical design software and CAD tools
  • Proven problem-solving ability and meticulous attention to detail
  • Experience working in collaborative team environments and mentoring engineers at various levels
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple technical projects simultaneously
  • Professional engineering certifications (PE, IEEE, or equivalent) preferred
