Archer Daniels Midland is hiring an OT Network Engineer II for our Decatur, Illinois facility in Macon County. This is a full-time, exempt-level position focused on strengthening the network infrastructure that powers our operational technology and process automation systems.
About the Role
As an OT Network Engineer II at ADM's Decatur location, you'll take ownership of critical network infrastructure projects that directly impact production efficiency and system reliability. You'll partner with our Operational Technology (OT) and Process Automation (PA) engineering teams to identify performance gaps, design infrastructure improvements, and implement solutions that enable our manufacturing operations to run at peak performance. This role combines hands-on technical work with strategic planning to modernize our network environment.
What You'll Do
- Design, deploy, and maintain network infrastructure for industrial process control systems and manufacturing operations
- Monitor network performance and reliability; identify and resolve bottlenecks that affect production
- Collaborate with OT engineers and PA engineers to align network architecture with operational requirements
- Conduct network assessments and recommend upgrades to improve system capabilities
- Ensure network security and compliance for industrial control environments
- Support troubleshooting and incident resolution across the OT network
- Document network configurations, architectures, and change procedures
What We're Looking For
- 3–5+ years of network engineering experience, with at least 1–2 years in operational technology (OT) or process automation environments
- Strong hands-on knowledge of network hardware, protocols, and industrial networking standards
- Experience with network diagnostics, performance monitoring, and troubleshooting
- Familiarity with OT/PA systems, control networks, or industrial automation environments
- Ability to work effectively with engineering teams and cross-functional stakeholders
- Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
