About the Role
As a Remediation Design Engineer at Jacobs, you'll translate complex environmental challenges into practical, cost-effective remedial action designs. Working with clients across federal and commercial sectors, you'll contribute technical expertise to high-impact projects that restore contaminated sites and protect communities. Your designs will reflect both regulatory compliance and innovative engineering problem-solving.
What You'll Do
- Develop remedial designs for contaminated sites, selecting appropriate treatment technologies and containment strategies
- Prepare engineering drawings, specifications, and design reports for regulatory approval and construction
- Partner with environmental scientists, hydrogeologists, and project managers to integrate site characterization data into design solutions
- Conduct feasibility analyses and cost-benefit evaluations for alternative remediation approaches
- Support field investigations and remedy implementation across diverse project sites
- Ensure designs meet federal environmental regulations and state-specific remediation standards
What We're Looking For
- Bachelor's degree in civil, environmental, or chemical engineering (or equivalent professional experience)
- Mid-level background in environmental site remediation design and assessment
- Working knowledge of remedial technologies (soil vapor extraction, groundwater treatment, in-situ stabilization, etc.)
- Proficiency with CAD software and environmental modeling tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across technical disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet regulatory deadlines
