About the Role

The Airborne Radar Systems and Techniques group at MIT Lincoln Laboratory seeks a technically accomplished analyst to contribute to the design, development, and optimization of high-performance radar and imaging sensor systems. This role combines theoretical rigor with hands-on prototyping, addressing real-world challenges in wide-area surveillance and target detection. You'll work alongside engineers and scientists with complementary expertise, collaborating to translate advanced concepts into operational systems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and prototype radar sensors and imaging systems for surveillance applications across complex operational environments
  • Develop and refine signal processing algorithms to detect and track objects under difficult atmospheric, terrain, and noise conditions
  • Contribute to both hardware architecture and software implementation, working across the full engineering stack
  • Evaluate system performance, conduct testing and validation, and identify optimization opportunities
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into technical solutions
  • Document findings and contribute to technical reports and project deliverables

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, physics, mathematics, or related field; advanced degree preferred
  • Strong foundation in signal processing, electromagnetics, or related technical disciplines
  • Experience with radar systems, sensor design, or related defense/aerospace applications
  • Proficiency in MATLAB, Python, or similar technical programming languages
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret or higher security clearance
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively in collaborative, multidisciplinary team environments
  • Strong problem-solving skills and attention to technical detail
