Axon is hiring a Software Technical Account Manager II in Ohio to drive customer success and retention for our public safety software solutions. In this pivotal role, you'll serve as the technical and strategic partner to law enforcement agencies and public safety organizations, ensuring they extract maximum value from our platform while identifying opportunities to expand adoption across their departments.
About the Role
As Software Technical Account Manager II, you'll manage a portfolio of mission-critical accounts, balancing technical support, relationship stewardship, and revenue growth. You'll be the primary point of contact for assigned customers—liaising between account holders, implementation teams, product engineering, and support—while ensuring smooth deployments, rapid issue resolution, and sustained customer satisfaction.
What You'll Do
- Own the post-sale technical relationship with assigned accounts, driving adoption, training, and business outcomes
- Conduct technical needs assessments, advise customers on configuration and best practices, and troubleshoot platform issues in collaboration with support and engineering
- Manage implementation timelines, coordinate cross-functional resources, and ensure on-time, on-budget project delivery
- Develop executive relationships at customer organizations, present technical roadmaps, and serve as an escalation path for critical issues
- Identify upsell, cross-sell, and renewal opportunities by understanding customer workflows and pain points
- Conduct training sessions, webinars, and knowledge-transfer activities to build customer competency and reduce support burden
- Track customer health metrics, forecast churn risk, and execute retention strategies for at-risk accounts
What We're Looking For
- 3+ years in a customer-facing technical role—account management, technical support, implementation, or solutions engineering
- Proficiency with cloud software platforms and ability to learn and explain technical architectures quickly
- Strong communication and presentation skills for audiences ranging from IT staff to executives
- Experience managing relationships with government or law enforcement organizations strongly preferred
- Problem-solving mindset with comfort managing ambiguity and competing priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Track record of driving customer retention and identifying revenue opportunities within existing accounts
