About the Role
As a Pipeline Operator I with Plains Marketing, you'll monitor pipeline systems across our West Texas operations, ensuring steady flow of crude oil and midstream products. This is a full-time position based at our Pecos facility, combining operational vigilance, equipment stewardship, and safety leadership in a high-responsibility environment.
What You'll Do
- Monitor pipeline pressures, flow rates, and system parameters using SCADA and instrumentation
- Conduct regular inspections of pumps, compressors, valves, and associated equipment
- Respond promptly to alarms and operational anomalies, initiating corrective actions
- Log operational data, maintain shift records, and document equipment performance
- Perform routine preventive maintenance and prepare equipment for service
- Troubleshoot operational issues and coordinate with maintenance teams
- Uphold safety protocols, environmental regulations, and company procedures
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification preferred
- Mechanical aptitude and comfort working with industrial equipment
- Ability to read gauges, charts, and operational documentation
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Reliable attendance and willingness to work scheduled shifts
- Basic computer skills and ability to learn SCADA systems
