About the Role
The Heart Institute at the University of South Florida is recruiting accomplished researchers and educators to advance cardiovascular science and clinical care. This full-time faculty position offers the opportunity to establish or expand a nationally recognized research program, mentor the next generation of cardiovascular specialists, and contribute to the institute's commitment to cardiac excellence.
What You'll Do
- Conduct original research in heart failure (systolic and diastolic dysfunction, congenital heart disease), regenerative cardiovascular medicine, tissue engineering, or molecular imaging
- Develop and sustain an externally funded research program recognized at the national level
- Teach and mentor undergraduate, graduate, and professional students in cardiology and cardiovascular science
- Supervise postdoctoral fellows, graduate students, and junior researchers
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams on research initiatives and clinical endeavors
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed literature and present at professional conferences
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. and/or M.D. with significant experience in cardiovascular research
- Demonstrated or strong potential to establish an independent research program with external funding
- Expertise and scholarly record in heart failure, regenerative cardiovascular medicine, tissue engineering, or molecular imaging
- Excellent teaching, communication, and mentoring abilities
- Commitment to collaborative research and academic community
- Active engagement with the broader cardiovascular research field
