About the Role
We're seeking an experienced educator to lead our public safety career pathway program. You'll teach aspiring law enforcement, emergency response, corrections, and other public safety career tracks to high school students ready for hands-on, meaningful education. This position offers the chance to build a comprehensive career tech program that prepares students for immediate entry into the workforce or post-secondary training in public safety fields.
What You'll Do
- Develop and deliver engaging classroom instruction in public safety theory, protocols, and professional practices
- Create lesson plans aligned with career and technical education standards and industry certifications
- Mentor and guide students through career exploration, skill-building, and professional development
- Assess student progress and provide feedback to support academic and career readiness growth
- Maintain safe, secure classroom and lab environments with proper equipment and resource management
- Collaborate with local law enforcement, fire, EMS, and corrections agencies to enhance curriculum relevance
- Prepare students for industry-recognized certifications, licensing exams, and career placement
- Engage families and community stakeholders in supporting student success
What We're Looking For
- Valid state teaching license or eligibility for career-technical teaching certification
- Background or demonstrated expertise in public safety, law enforcement, emergency response, or corrections
- Experience teaching high school students or career tech populations
- Knowledge of industry certifications, compliance standards, and career pathways in public safety
- Strong classroom management, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Ability to inspire and motivate students from diverse backgrounds toward career success
- Commitment to continuous professional development and curriculum innovation
