Gpac is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join its law practice in Vandalia, Guilford County, North Carolina. This full-time position offers the opportunity to build and manage a substantial caseload while working directly with experienced partners who represent employers and insurers across multiple industries.
About the Role
As a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney at Gpac, you'll handle litigation from intake through resolution, building expertise in employer and insurer representation. You'll collaborate with seasoned partners, gaining exposure to complex workers' compensation claims while developing the skills to lead your own matters.
What You'll Do
- Manage a full caseload of workers' compensation cases on behalf of employers and insurance carriers
- Prepare pleadings, motions, discovery responses, and legal correspondence
- Conduct legal research and analysis to support case strategy
- Participate in discovery proceedings, depositions, and settlement negotiations
- Represent clients at workers' compensation hearings and administrative proceedings
- Maintain organized case files and track deadlines and procedural requirements
- Partner with firm attorneys on case planning and client solutions
What We're Looking For
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree and active North Carolina bar license
- Strong legal research, writing, and litigation skills
- Ability to manage multiple matters and meet tight deadlines
- Excellent communication and client service orientation
- Meticulous attention to detail and file management
- Interest in or prior experience with workers' compensation law preferred
