Weber State University's Goddard School of Business & Economics in Ogden, Weber County is seeking a full-time Assistant or Associate Professor of Finance for a nine-month tenure-track position beginning Fall 2026. This role offers the opportunity to teach, conduct research, and shape the future of finance education.
About the Role
This tenure-track appointment combines the core responsibilities of academic faculty: teaching finance courses, conducting scholarly research, and participating in departmental and university service. The nine-month structure provides focused engagement with students and dedicated time for research and professional development during the academic year.
What You'll Do
- Teach finance courses at the undergraduate and graduate levels
- Develop and refine course content reflecting current finance practice and industry needs
- Conduct original research and publish findings in peer-reviewed journals
- Advise students and mentor them toward successful careers in finance
- Serve on department and university committees
- Contribute to the School of Accounting, Finance, & Taxation's strategic and professional initiatives
What We're Looking For
- Ph.D. in Finance (preferably from an AACSB-accredited program)
- Strong commitment to teaching excellence
- Demonstrated research productivity and scholarly interests in finance
- Clear communication skills in written and verbal forms
- Willingness to engage in departmental and university service
