Project Engineer – Commercial Drywall

Lee Construction Group, Inc. seeks an experienced Project Engineer - Commercial Drywall to manage construction projects in Charlottesville, Virginia. As a full-time member of our team, you'll oversee drywall operations from planning through completion, ensuring quality execution and on-time delivery for commercial properties across the region.

About the Role

The Project Engineer works directly with construction managers, subcontractors, and clients to coordinate all phases of commercial drywall installation. You'll be the technical leader on-site, translating blueprints into finished work while maintaining safety and budget standards. This role offers hands-on involvement in every aspect of project execution—from pre-construction planning through final inspection.

What You'll Do

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and resource allocation for commercial drywall contracts
• Coordinate with crews, suppliers, and trade partners to ensure seamless workflow and quality standards
• Review construction documents, specifications, and blueprints to verify compliance
• Monitor on-site progress, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions
• Prepare project reports, track labor and materials, and maintain accurate documentation
• Conduct quality inspections and ensure adherence to building codes and safety regulations
• Communicate project updates to management and clients

What We're Looking For

• Background in commercial construction or drywall installation with supervisory or engineering experience
• Strong knowledge of drywall systems, framing, and commercial construction methods
• Proficiency reading blueprints and construction documents
• Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Physical ability to work on active construction sites
