Sr. Stress Analyst

Lockheed Martin is hiring a Senior Stress Analyst for our Redstone Arsenal, Madison County facility. In this full-time role, you'll lead structural analysis efforts for advanced aerospace and defense systems, ensuring mission-critical components meet the highest performance and reliability standards.

About the Role

As a Sr. Stress Analyst, you'll apply advanced engineering expertise to solve complex structural challenges. Working from our Redstone Arsenal location, you'll conduct rigorous finite element analyses, validate component designs, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to optimize performance under demanding operational conditions. Your technical insights will directly influence the development of next-generation aerospace technologies.

What You'll Do

• Execute comprehensive finite element analysis and stress calculations on aerospace components, assemblies, and systems
• Develop, verify, and correlate analytical models for structural behavior prediction under operational loads
• Partner with design and engineering teams to refine component geometry and material selections for optimal performance
• Generate detailed technical analyses, reports, and documentation supporting design certification and regulatory compliance
• Evaluate designs against aerospace structural standards, safety requirements, and certification specifications
• Review engineering drawings and specifications to establish appropriate load cases and failure criteria
• Support prototype testing programs, analyzing experimental data and validating analytical predictions
• Provide technical guidance to junior engineers and contribute to process improvements

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Aerospace, or equivalent engineering discipline; Master's degree a plus
• Minimum 5 years of professional stress analysis, structural analysis, or related aerospace engineering experience
• Demonstrated proficiency with finite element analysis software and modern analysis tools
• In-depth knowledge of aerospace structural standards, design codes, and certification requirements
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with proven ability to handle complex technical problems
• Excellent communication skills for documentation, presentations, and team collaboration
• Track record of managing multiple projects and delivering results on schedule
• Active or eligibility for security clearance
