UIC Government Services and the Bowhead Family of Companies is hiring a Quality Control Manager to lead quality assurance and control operations for civil construction projects in Eagle River, Anchorage, Alaska. In this full-time role, you'll report directly to the Operations Manager and own all aspects of project quality planning, implementation, and oversight in one of the most demanding construction environments in the nation.
About the Role
As Quality Control Manager, you'll ensure every project meets rigorous quality standards from foundation to completion. This is a hands-on leadership position that combines technical expertise with strategic planning, requiring someone who understands both the complexities of civil and vertical construction in Alaska's unique conditions and the discipline needed to maintain consistency across multiple sites.
What You'll Do
- Develop and execute comprehensive quality control plans tailored to each project's scope, timeline, and specifications
- Conduct site inspections, material testing, and compliance reviews to verify work meets contractual and regulatory standards
- Lead quality assurance teams and coordinate with project managers, superintendents, and subcontractors to maintain standards
- Document quality metrics, non-conformances, and corrective actions; prepare reports for leadership and clients
- Identify process improvements and implement best practices to enhance efficiency and reduce rework
- Ensure adherence to all applicable building codes, safety regulations, and client requirements
What We're Looking For
- Proven experience as a Quality Control Manager or similar role in civil and vertical construction
- Demonstrated success managing quality control operations in Alaska or similarly remote, challenging environments
- Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, materials standards, and testing procedures
- Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to coordinate across teams
- Attention to detail and commitment to continuous improvement
- High school diploma or GED (relevant certifications a plus)
