Refrigeration Senior Service Technician

Houchens Food Group is hiring a Refrigeration Senior Service Technician to join our team in Huntsville, Madison County. This full-time position offers the opportunity to apply your technical expertise and leadership within one of the nation's largest employee-owned grocers.

About the Role

As a Refrigeration Senior Service Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining, repairing, and optimizing the refrigeration systems that keep our supermarkets and convenience stores operating smoothly across our 15-state network. Reporting to the Refrigeration Service Supervisor, you'll provide technical expertise and support to ensure our facilities maintain proper temperature control and food safety standards.

What You'll Do

• Install, maintain, and repair commercial refrigeration systems in supermarkets and convenience store locations
• Diagnose and troubleshoot refrigeration equipment to minimize downtime and operational disruption
• Perform preventive maintenance on refrigeration units according to established schedules
• Ensure all work meets safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance standards
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior technicians and service team members
• Respond to service calls and emergency repairs in a timely and professional manner
• Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance, and equipment performance

What We're Looking For

• EPA Section 608 Refrigeration Certification (or equivalent)
• Extensive hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration systems
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities
• Knowledge of HVAC/R systems and electrical components
• Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams
• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel between locations
• Commitment to safety and operational excellence
