Power BI Developer with Security Clearance

Contact Government Services, LLC seeks a mid-level Power BI Developer for our full-time position in The Gap, Chicago, supporting analytics and business intelligence initiatives for a major federal government client. You'll design, build, and maintain interactive dashboards and reports that transform agency data into strategic insights—the kind of work that directly advances government missions through modern analytics technology.

About the Role

As a Power BI Developer in our Information Technology department, you'll partner directly with federal agency stakeholders to understand complex data challenges and deliver analytical solutions at enterprise scale. Your dashboards and reports will drive informed decision-making across government operations.

What You'll Do

• Design and develop Power BI dashboards, reports, and semantic data models connected to federal agency systems
• Write and optimize DAX and M (Power Query) formulas for fast, accurate data transformations
• Build connections to multiple databases and data systems using SQL and related technologies
• Gather requirements from stakeholders and translate business needs into analytical solutions
• Test reports for accuracy, performance, and compliance with government data security standards
• Document solutions and maintain technical specifications for handoff and support
• Troubleshoot issues and provide ongoing user support for deployed reports

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of professional experience developing Power BI solutions, reports, and dashboards
• Strong command of DAX, M (Power Query), and data modeling design
• Solid SQL and database fundamentals for writing queries and integrating data sources
• Familiarity with federal government systems or compliance environments (preferred)
• Active security clearance (TS/SCI preferred) or ability to obtain federal security clearance
• Problem-solving mindset with meticulous attention to data accuracy
• Clear communication skills for working with both technical teams and non-technical stakeholders
