Cushman & Wakefield is hiring a full-time Maintenance Technician, Multifamily for our residential property management operations in Memphis, Shelby County. In this hands-on role, you'll be the key technical resource ensuring our resident communities operate smoothly, safely, and at peak performance every day.
About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician, Multifamily at Cushman & Wakefield, you are the backbone of day-to-day property operations. You respond promptly to resident maintenance requests, troubleshoot building systems, and perform both corrective and preventive maintenance across the property. Your work directly impacts resident satisfaction, retention, and the property's overall condition. You'll take ownership of work orders from intake through completion, coordinate with licensed contractors when specialized work is required, and maintain detailed records of all maintenance activities.
What You'll Do
- Respond to resident maintenance requests and service calls in a timely, professional manner
- Repair and maintain residential units, including appliances, plumbing fixtures, flooring, and interior components
- Perform preventive maintenance on HVAC systems, water heaters, electrical systems, and common building infrastructure
- Diagnose equipment failures and determine whether repair or replacement is needed
- Maintain common areas including lobbies, stairwells, grounds, and parking facilities
- Follow all safety protocols, building codes, and company procedures while working
- Document all maintenance work, track inventory, and report on system performance
- Coordinate with external contractors and ensure quality workmanship standards are met
What We're Looking For
- High school diploma or GED
- Proven experience as a maintenance technician, building maintenance professional, or in a similar hands-on technical role
- Solid knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, HVAC, appliances, and general building maintenance
- Ability to troubleshoot problems independently and work with minimal supervision
- Strong customer service orientation and professional communication with residents
- Willingness to learn new systems and stay current with property technologies
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Physical ability to lift, climb, bend, and work in various environmental conditions
